Unveiled at the Cannes Yachting Festival, the new Benetti B.Yond features interiors by the Italian company that enrich its innovative design

For nearly 125 years, furniture company Giorgetti has been deeply rooted in Italian furniture making traditions that merge the finest craftsmanship with aesthetic excellence. The company is no stranger to experimentation however, and its latest project, a collaboration with yacht company Benetti, proves its forward-thinking stance.

‘Receiving a call from [Azimut Benetti executive vice president] Giovanna Vitelli has changed our perception of nautical design,’ explained Giorgetti CEO Giovanni del Vecchio. Two years ago, he was invited to create the interiors for Benetti’s latest concept, a cutting-edge 37m low-emission yacht featuring innovative Siemens Energy propulsion, making it the greenest yacht in its category.

The steel and aluminium boat was designed by architect Stefano Righini, with interiors by Mauro Izzo and Giorgetti, and features a steel hull, with an aluminium superstructure distinguished by the painted stainless steel profiles, covered in teak and including a fourth deck for an enhanced living experience.

On board, the design of the interiors frame breathtaking panoramic views all around. Giorgetti’s intervention across the spaces includes pieces that were chosen for their functionality, representing the company’s aesthetic approach and craft sensibility. Each detail of the yacht’s interiors and external decks has been created to suit the spaces, with natural colours punctuated by blue shades that enrich the palette. Furniture from Giorgetti’s indoor and outdoor collections seamlessly merge with the yacht’s sinuous design, complementing the soft spaces with curved lines and discreet silhouettes.

Among the company’s featured pieces is the Apsara outdoor seating system on the upper deck, while inside, the generous forms of the Urban sofas create an inviting lounge space. Elsewhere, on the sun deck, the geometric profiles of the Break table anchor the dining area, completed with the Aldia chairs and featuring the iconic Clop rocking chair.

‘This project represents the essence of what Giorgetti does: going from object to project, using our savoir-faire at the service of our customers to achieve completely bespoke solutions,’ continues del Vecchio. ‘And we were instantly passionate about the challenge to work on such an innovative boat, to customise it and combine beauty and functionality.’

The boat is being previewed at Cannes Yachting Festival (6-11 September 2022) and Monaco Yacht Show (28 September - 1 October 2022) before being handed back to the shipowner.

‘When two companies with such a history and tradition like Giorgetti and Benetti meet and collaborate on an innovative product, they create the future,’ adds del Vecchio. ‘There’s no innovation without vision.’ §
